Skincare Tips

For makeup to really work wonders, you need to start with a good canvas. These proven skincare tips will help you get great looking skin.

Dry Skin Tips

If you have sensitive, dry skin that sometimes flakes, then these dry skin tips will help you get soft, supple skin:

  • Avoid harsh soaps and toners. Rather look for cleansers with built-in moisturisers for dry skin.
  • Be careful not to over-cleanse. Rinse well and apply moisturiser while skin is damp for better absorption.
  • Use a gentle exfoliator. Only use this once a week or every other day to avoid stripping the skin of too much moisture.
  • Always use moisturizer with a build in sunscreen. SPF15 or higher is best.

Normal Skin Tips

If you have skin that isn’t dry or oily, but somewhere in between, then follow these normal skin tips:

  • Cleanse with a built-in exfoliator and moisturising wash. Normal skin can use a gentle exfoliator daily, but still needs moisture.
  • Use toner or mild astringent after cleansing. Use this especially on the forehead, nose and chin, which can be oilier than the rest of your skin.
  • Use a moisturizer with an SPF10-15. Use less on areas that are oilier, and more over drier parts like cheeks and neck.

Oily Skin Tips

If your skin is prone to break-outs and tends to shine, try these oily skin tips to smooth your complexion out:

  • Use cleansers and toners with tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is a natural purifier that reduces oiliness without drying out the skin.
  • Avoid exfoliating or scrubbing. This will only aggravate break-outs; rather use toners to gently remove dead skin.
  • Use a good oil-free moisturizer with an SPF15. Oily skin still needs moisture.
  • Use a spot busting gel or cream to dry out pimples. For serious break-outs or acne, consult a dermatologist for specialized treatment.

Follow these skincare tips that are right for your skin type will ensure that your skin is ready to be made up beautifully.
